The other day I stumbled upon this video of Warren Buffet:

According to Buffet’s observation of the scene at The Flamingo Casino, so many willing customer, dressed to the nines, had traveled from across the globe to participate in an activity that they knew was mathematically unfavorable and much to the casino’s advantage. At this moment, he knew he was going to be rich because he had the self-control to stay away from such temptations.

This short one-minute clip really got me thinking and created somewhat of an epithany: wealth can be created more often than not from what we choose not to do versus what we choose to do. For example, take someone who smokes a pack of cigarettes a day. At $10 a pack, this amounts to $3,650 annually. Eliminating this unhealthy habit will not only save this amount on an annual basis but will also prevent any future medical costs.

To me, health is wealth and by taking the time to reflect and jot down all habits one has and then categorizing them into healthy or unhealthy habits can be the first major step to anyone achieving both financial and mental fortunes. Eliminating unhealthy habits and replacing them with healthy habits will not only save someone thousands of dollars but will also allow them to operate at a higher capacity due to their body, mind, and spirit being in a concoction of happy coherence.

No matter what comes our way, we can always turn challenges into opportunities by first taking ownership over the habits that control our days. I appreciate you all for taking the time to read my article and hope we can all stride forward together as warriors on this self-improvement journey.

Blessings
